2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary:
Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment and systems in the manufacturing facility.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses mechanical skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment in accordance with established GMP and safety procedures.
- Provides emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Calls for back up and coordinates repairs with other mechanics.
- Installs, repairs, overhauls, modifies and maintains electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Performs required routine preventive maintenance and repair activities when not working on breakdowns.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electrical, electronic, and mechanical components throughout the Plant.
- Keep shift supervisor / Plant Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor up to date concerning jobs status and concerns and leads the line in assuring that production schedule is achieved in an effective and efficient manner.
- Promote a safe work environment. Ensure that all employees are working in a safe manner. Work closely with production supervisors to address issues. Comply and assures compliance of others with all GMP, Safety Procedures, Company Policies, Quality Policies & Procedures, and Hazard Analysis & Critical Control points as they apply.
- Provide other employees guidance and direction to attain good quality and productivity. Monitor and review all paperwork for all processes and look for areas or issues that need addressed. Insure that all required documentation is completed, timely and accurately. Provide support and guidance for production personnel as a leader and aide. Seeking out work that has not been assigned but needs to be done. Must take a proactive approach to job opportunities.
- Assist in solving process, quality and production problems. Work with production supervisors to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Job will require communication through text, email, iPad / tablet applications and team meetings. Should be proficient at major forms of communication devices.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent and 5 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Able to follow blueprints and other technical instructions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only a limited standardization exist.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.
- Able to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Working knowledge of electronic and electrical concepts and operating safety.
- Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools commonly used in electrical, electronic, and mechanical trades.

Physical Demands:
Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required.
Work Environment:
In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards. May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
