Machine Operator 2 (Day Shift $18.36/hour)

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, Machine Operator 2/Line QC is responsible for inspection and verification of finished and in process products and the accurate, timely completion of all related documentation necessary to ensure all quality standards are achieved and maintained on the Rotary and Spigot lines. Also, he/she is responsible for setting up and operating numerous packaging machines on the production line, as well as overseeing the effective and safe operation of those machines.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely completion of Quality related documentation
- Daily records and check sheets
- Records of test results and reporting of anomalies and exceptions
- Preparation of weight sheets, labels (bottles/cases), production sheets
- Monitor production activities to ensure compliance with HACCP plans
- Interact with production workers and supervisor to provide information and answer quality related question
- Integrating all plant, quality, safety and security policies and guidelines into all day to day activities on the job
- Setting up and operating packaging machines on the production line including:
- Refilling product into the machine when it runs out
- Observing gauges, computer printouts and video monitors to verify specific processing conditions
- Making adjustments to processing variables such as size and weight
- Checking products for defects and ensuring conformance to company standards and reporting any problems in a timely manner.
- Ensuring adequate stock of packaging material is on hand and available
- Ensuring the proper operation of the production line equipment as per SSOPs and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Specific Process Controls (SPC) requirements.
- Report any equipment problems in a timely & customer oriented manner
- Inspecting equipment & initiating appropriate sanitation protocols as per the Company’s SSOPs.
- Ensuring all standards for sterilization, sanitation & housekeeping as per Company SSOPs are met
- All other work as assigned by duly authorized Supervisor or Manager
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Properly and safely store, mix, and use all cleaning chemicals according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), HACCP, WHMIS & Safety procedures.
- Follow verbal and written instructions related to duties.
- Observe production flow to verify specified processing conditions.
- Work in a team environment with continuous improvement efforts
- Follow all proper maintenance, sanitation, and Health & Safety protocols at all times.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and general housekeeping
- Acquire new skills as per training provided.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors as a Quality Focused, Service Oriented team member

Physical Demands:
Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required.
Work Environment:
In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.
