Inventory and Administrative Coordinator

Position Summary:

To support the effective management of inventories, by counting, researching, reconciling and communicating issues in a timely manner as they arise.  Provide administrative support for the Plant leadership team in the successful execution of key performance metrics,  People, Safety, Quality, Delivery and Costs. Perform all tasks executing Worker and Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion.  

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cycle Counting:  Conduct regular cycle counts of  to ensure that inventories are accurate and that count frequency requirements are met.
  • Research:  Research inventory variances and assist with identifying root cause of discrepancies by examining bills of material, receipts, shipments, transfers, production usage, etc.
  • Reconciliation:  Review and reconcile Production work orders, LP in Production, Loose Inventory, and Lost Inventory in the system.
  • Communication:  Communicate any variances to appropriate personnel while also adhering to company policy regarding approval levels.
  • Administrative: Perform support tasks such as, accounting support, mail distribution, filing, reception, document and presentation creation, and other assigned tasks.
  • Cross-Training:  Learn key components, driver check-in, appointments, paperwork processing, for Distribution Clerk role to support when needed.
  • Engagement: Support the HR Manager and EHS Manager with the sites engagement and safety programs by becoming an champion and supporting the engagement and Safety committees. Execute the Create a Safe Day and Stop Think, Act program recordkeeping and promotion.
  • Production Support: Own the label area including the distribution and collection of labels.  Print and distribute daily production schedules.  Observe practices and participate in Fuel for Growth ideation and execution. Support and assist Training Coordinator when needed using POKA and other tools.
  • Other Duties: Support the site with other duties not listed above in pursuit of delivery of extraordinary Customer Experience.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant work experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree or completion of college coursework in business preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be computer literate, with strong experience in Office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.  
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning software such as JD Edwards helpful.  
  • Possess excellent math skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control procedures and Accounts Payable support helpful.  
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Should have good inter-personal skills, able to interact at all levels.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and be a self-starter are important to this position.

*The “base hourly range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position in the specified markets.  Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.  Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.  
 
Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
Please see the job description for specific requirements of the position for which you are applying. Typical shifts are 8 hours per day.  Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required.  Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements.  In addition, certain jobs may require employees to:

  • Work outside and/or in adverse temperatures which could include extreme heat, cold, and humidity;
  • Be exposed to vibrations, chemicals used in operations, fumes and food allergens (may include soy, dairy and other allergens); and
  • Be required to work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet.
