Position Summary:

Movement of product and/or ingredients throughout the facility is a primary responsibility of this position. Use of electric powered industrial truck equipped with devices such as forks or clamps. Responsible for loading/unloading trucks and verifying received quantities. Accurate recording required information to ensure accurate inventory levels.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unload product and/or ingredients from trucks using inbound bill of lading (BOL), while verifying product and quantities listed on the BOL. Record any shortage, overage or damaged products or ingredients on the BOL completing the receiving exception report
  • Follow and complete all RPA procedures as needed
  • Print purchase order receiving report by pallet, daily. Using this report recognize mixed code dates, separating them and tagging them to ensure recall ability
  • Operate stretch wrapper machine
  • Complete inbound trailer inspection form for each trailer
  • Working knowledge of RF scanning system and receiving functions to do inventory movements in the warehouse areas. Assure proper paperwork and scans are completed on all product and material movements
  • Pre-stage orders for shipping or ingredients for production as time allows. Pick, stage and load finished goods on trailers to fulfill customer orders accurately
  • Consistently follow all safety, sanitation, personnel, and security policies and procedures
  • Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in a warehouse distribution environment

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previously licensed/certified as a forklift driver and must be able to pass skills test for license/certification as well as written test for sit down and stand up forklift
  • Good math skills are required
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively
  • Computer literate skills – preferably AS400

 

Physical Demands:

Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.  Additional demands may be required.

 

Work Environment:

In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed.  May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity.  May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.  May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
