Label Room Attendent - 2nd Shift

Position Summary:

Coordinate and manage the activities of the label room to include (but not limited to) ordering adequate stock of labels for production; working with vendors; coordinates the development of new and updates to existing label layouts with Sales/Customer, Headquarters Purchasing Coordinator and QA; restocking shelves; pulling labels against the production schedule; delivering labels to the production lines and returning unused labels back to stock; and providing support to production with regard to any application issues with labels.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pulls labels for production schedule and delivers to the appropriate production line on a daily basis prior to the start of production's shift and return  unused labels from previous day's production to the proper inventory location.
  • Reviews Inventory Management Reports and determines the optimal inventory level for each label in an effort to meet produciton demands on an ongoing basis. Accurately maintains current system informtion for all labels.
  • Enters purchase orders, ensures all orders are confirmed by vendor, and upon receipt of PO, adjusts delivery dates as changes in demand occur, stocking labels into proper inventory locations.  Ensures the proper artwork number is on all purchase orders and labels upon receipt. 
  • Works with Head Quarters development and QA to ensure accurracy and approval of developed and updated labels. 
  • Upon PO receipt, verify label accuracy and quantity received against order quantity and receiving documents, update label card file and Purchasing Manager's label books with current label, and place received labels in their proper location in the warehouse.  Update current systems as needed with appropriate information.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Well developed interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize a heavy workload.
  • Strong leadership skills,  self-confidence, positive mental attitude, able to use common sense and a self-starter.
  • High school diploma.
  • 3-5 years in purchasing preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions. 
  • Ability to comprehend complex functions and procedures and to be able to disseminate that knowledge in a clear and concise manner to others. 
  • Proficient in preparing and maintaining reports. 
  • Analytical problem solving capability coupled with ability to manage change effectively. 
  • Strong systems perspective of business operations and information-based decision making capability. 
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade. 
  • Operate personal computer: 
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and current operating systems software.

Physical Demands:
Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s).  Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.  Additional demands may be required.

 

Work Environment:
In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed.  May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity.  May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.  May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
