Financial Analyst

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing robust financial analysis to enhance the decision-making process for our Ontario, CA Operations Leadership Team. The role is designed to improve the availability of information across operational performance, product costs, capital spending, and utilities.  This position will enable our Finance and Operations business partners to drive actionable change to improve overall business performance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis & Budgeting - Operations
- Provide operational and financial analysis support for the site operations teams.
- Review operations performance by site, and provide business partners with insights to drive performance improvements.
- Support annual budget process and ongoing maintenance of the budget templates.
- Perform benchmarking studies by platform / line to identify fuel for growth opportunities.
- Support BI reporting development to improve / automate current financial systems.

 
 
 

Capital Spend Analysis
- Consolidate and maintain capital spending forecasts and reporting models.
- Support our key business partners in the preparation of capital models that are submitted through our RFE (request for expenditures) process, ensuring all benefits are documented and verified.
- Review completed capital projects to ensure scope and savings are realized.

 

 
 
 

Utility Savings Analysis
- Coordinate and consolidate manufacturing plant utility tracking and savings programs.
- Work with key business partners and sites to identify and execute saving opportunities.

 
 
 

Perform other analysis, reconciliations, or functions assigned.

 
 
 

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting or Finance, is required.                                        Experience in accounting, financial analysis, modeling & reporting is required. Generally 2-5 years
Manufacturing operations and accounting experience a plus.
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel & PowerPoint required
Excellent verbal, written and listening skills are required
CPA or MBA a plus
Experience with JDE, AS400, MicroStrategy a plus

Knowledge and Skills:

Must be detail oriented, organized and highly analytical
Must have strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
Ability to work successfully in a team environment
Ability to grasp new concepts and problem solve
Understanding of manufacturing variances

  • Salary Base Range of $84,620.00 - $108,399.90*

 

*The “base salary range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position in the specified markets.  Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.  Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.

Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day.   Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required.  Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements.  In addition, certain jobs may require employees to:

  • Work outside and/or in adverse temperatures which could include extreme heat, cold, and humidity;
  • Be exposed to vibrations, chemicals used in operations, fumes and food allergens (may include soy, dairy and other allergens); and
  • Be required to work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet.
