Position Summary:
Supervisor Quality Assurance - Supplier Quality Team - is responsible for leading the Supplier Quality Team as the technical liaison between Ventura Foods and Suppliers, Co-Manufacturers/Packers, 3rd party network, and the plants. The Supervisor will provide key support in leading the Supplier Approval program, including development and execution of a Supplier Risk Assessment, Supplier/Co-Man/Co-Packer Auditing, and the Supplier Non-Conformance Database. This includes communicating with Suppliers/Co-Mans/Co-Packers directly and in partnership with Procurement to resolve escalated issues. The supervisor will support the Supply Chain Quality Manager in quality, food safety and related technical areas to provide compliance support between suppliers and Ventura Foods. The supervisor is responsible for managing the workflow of SQEMs, incorporating new suppliers, co-manufacturers/co-packers, and 3PLs into the system, and leading the execution and optimization of TraceGains. This work includes managing policies, specifications, and guidances as they relate to supplier and regulatory compliance. The Supervisor will at times participate in relevant Ventura Foods Operations and Quality Assurance teams and projects in order to meet business, customer and regulatory initiatives. This role will be required to interface with other company functional groups of procurement, Technical Services, R&D, HS&E, Sales, Marketing, and HR. May represent Manager, VP and/or company at outside association meetings and/or conferences.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide key support in managing Supplier Quality activities including new Supplier Approval, Supplier Approval maintenance, and non-conformance issues.
- Manage SNC database, Trace Gains, and PLM information for Supply Chain Quality.
- Partners with procurement, oil trading, plant teams, R&D, and tech services in projects and issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain systems, databases, processes and/or tools as needed to optimize Supplier Quality, Customer Quality or Supply Chain Quality functions.
- Develop SOPs as necessary to ensure continued Supplier, Co-Man/Packer, 3PL Quality.
- Collaborates, educates, and trains staff, operations management, and leadership relating to Supplier quality. Keeps Ventura Foods current on all regulations and FSMA requirements including FSVP.
- Must be willing to travel to plants, suppliers, Co-Manufacturers/Co-Packers, 3PLs, customers, and other company or industry related events.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree required.
- 3-5 years food industry and quality assurance management experience required.
- 1+ years of management of people and/or quality assurance programs required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of FSMA, FDA 21 CFR, and USDA FSIS Directive policies preferred.
- HACCP, HARPC, GMP, FSVP, and Sanitation programs.
- TraceGains experience, PCQI certification, ASQ Certification, Food microbiology knowledge, and technical knowledge of food processing a plus.
- Must have excellent communication, data analysis, presentation, oration and computer skills.

- Salary Base Range of $75,456.60 - $116,466.90*
- Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)
