Assistant Processor - 2/2/3 Schedule $1000 Sign on Bonus!

 

Location: Chambersburg, PA 

Exemption: Nonexempt 

Shift: Nights – 12 hours shifts

Position Summary:

The Assistant Processor assists in preparing product according to established formulas. Responsible for assisting in getting prepared batches of product toted off and/or pumped into hold tanks for the production line.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary deck support by mixing and blending batch alongside processor, i.e., A deck and H deck
  • Provide deck support by setting up, rinsing and filling totes of finished product for PC/cup production
  • Provide mezzanine support by handling totes of finished product to fill hold tanks on mezzanine for cup lines
  • Sets up processing work area, keeps it clean and orderly throughout the work shift, places  product (good or bad) in proper containers securing and properly tagging as applicable and discards any trash generated in work area, i.e., trash hopper, empty rework boxes, emptied ingredient drums, liners, etc.
  • Follow instructions from processor to make necessary adjustments to formulas being made
  • Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent food manufacturing experience
  • 1 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand written instructions
  • Ability to work hours assigned by supervisors
  • Ability to follow all GMP standards and expectations and adhere to SQF guidelines

 

Physical Demands:

Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.  Additional demands may be required.

 

Work Environment:

In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed.  May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity.  May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.  May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
