Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Data Architecture is responsible for leading the design, strategy, and governance of the enterprise data platform to ensure scalability, security, and alignment with business objectives. This role drives innovation by developing data architecture frameworks, optimizing data integration, and enabling advanced analytics through modern cloud technologies. Additionally, the role fosters cross-functional collaboration with our IT and business partners while leading our technical team and implementing best practices.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a high-performing data architecture team that ensures uninterrupted service provision while aligning with the Ventura Edge. Foster a culture of continuous learning by training and mentoring the team in both business and technical skills. Promote work-life balance while supporting career growth and professional development.
  • Lead data architecture initiatives across all phases of data platform development, implementation, and support. Provide technical oversight, mentoring, and guidance to ensure alignment with IT Intake and SDLC principles. Establish and enforce architectural standards, data governance policies, and best practices for metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging.
  • Maintain and enhance the current Data & Analytics environment, ensuring stability, scalability, and security. Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to modernize and optimize data infrastructure. Oversee change management processes, production support, and periodic user reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead and implement the design of data models that integrate heterogeneous data from multiple sources, ensuring seamless support for BI, analytics, and AI-driven initiatives. Perform source system analysis for accurate data mapping, transformation, and orchestration across operational and analytical ecosystems. Standardize data management practices, including master data management (MDM), data dictionaries, and metadata frameworks.
  • Work closely with executives, business leaders, and IT stakeholders to align data strategies with business objectives. Translate business needs into strategic and tactical technology roadmaps, ensuring scalability and innovation. Lead the development of enterprise data strategy artifacts—including principles, standards, and models—to guide the organization toward a long-term data vision and roadmap.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and/or relevant equivalent experience.  
  • 12-16 years delivering scalable, secure, and highly available data platform solutions 
  • 10+ years of experience leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable solutions to meet the organization's data storage and retrieval needs leveraging technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse (BI/DW) experience involving multiple major development projects.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with major BI tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau etc.) 
  • 5+ years of experience leading and mentoring distributed technical teams, driving strategy, architecture, and execution in large-scale data initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams, foster a culture of innovation, and collaborate cross-functionally with business and IT stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Be able to demonstrate the following technical leadership skills:
  • Deep knowledge of Data Warehousing environments and the development of DW architecture
  • Successfully developed and implemented new technologies and work processes.
  • Industry:  Industry experience building "Cloud First" solutions to ensure optimal performance, high availability, and secure data to support manufacturing and/or consumer products goods (CPG).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated high competency in leading small teams of global (on-shore and off-shore) resources support data and analytics.
  • Build experience: Demonstrated proficiency in  various databases technologies. Examples include relational database (Db2, MySQL, Oracle) and/or Cloud database (Snowflake, Databricks)
  • In depth knowledge of Data Warehousing theories and methodologies, including star schemas, OLAP, multi-tier data warehouse architectures, metadata, and multidimensional cubes.
  • Ability to use data modeling tools like, ERWin, Oracle Designer, System Architecture or Describe.   
  • Ability to performance tune in various data warehousing environments 
  • Firm understanding of data security concepts and rules.
  • Data Orchestration: Managing the delivery and support of highly available data pipelines using API, ETL/ ELT, DBT, etc. through leading technologies such as Informatica, MuleSoft
  • Data Visualization: Experience with Data Visualization tools such as MicroStrategy, PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, or others
  • Project Planning:  Strong business planning skills, and project planning skills, effectively arranging resources and managing multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Communication: Ability to explain DW concepts to non-technical professionals; ability to communicate at all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and IT project life cycle methodologies
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs, developing and delivering projects using (where appropriate) leading-edge technology.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for a variety of projects.
  • Ability to explain DW concepts to non-technical people; ability to communicate professionally to all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present and explain technical information in a way that: establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.

  • Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)
