Position Summary:

Provides accurate, timely technical support and documentation to satisfy company, regulatory and customer expectations. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains up-to-date understanding of Federal, State, and Export labeling regulations.  Utilizes knowledge of current regulations, product formulation, supplier specifications, customer requirements and Company standards to develop and update finished product ingredient statements and nutritional documents as defined by NLEA.
  • Has a thorough understanding of Company QA requirements, policies and procedures.   Utilizes and is knowledgeable of Company inter-departmental resources, manufacturing processes and capabilities in order to complete customer required documentation and specifications.  Fulfills and provides timely response to internal and external customer inquiries and requests for QA documentation.
  • Develops and maintains centralized on-line specification system using the most up-to-date supplier documentation.  Communicates with approved suppliers and Ventura factories to assure compliance with Company raw material quality expectations.
  • Understands complexities of international trade agreements such as NAFTA & CAFTA.  Utilizes this understanding to properly assess Company finished products under correct harmonized tariff codes and to provide the Company with appropriate documentation to meet specific export requirements. 
  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of Company technical documentation such as material safety data sheets, kosher certification, co-packed products documents, oil specifications, QA policies and procedures, etc.  Maintains Customer databases (Sysco, GFS).
  • Support daily activities by fulfilling requests, answering questions, directing phone calls as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science/Nutrition, Food Technology or equivalent.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good communication, writing, computer and statistical skills, technically oriented. 
  • Knowledge of product specifications, nutrition and labeling for finished products and ingredients.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize.
