Regional Sales Manager 2 - Midwest Region

Position Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager II is responsible for achieving the sales objectives in the assigned territory, including retailers and retail distributors.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manager the retailer and distributor accounts within the territory, including communication, distribution, placement, promotions, contracting and trade support to achieve the Company's sales objectives for Retail.  Leverage the Edge Selling Cycle and Ventura CVP elements to grow the territory.
  • Maintain current and complete activity through the Company CRM and Trade Management tools, as well as monitoring sales activity through Company data tools, offering no spending unless authorized by Company.
  • Monitor the activities of the sales agencies under contract to achieve the Company's sales objectives at the customers within the territory including monthly reporting to and from the agencies on progress against objectives.
  • Regularly and consistently reviews sales results, market analytics and promotional activity results with Director.
  • Partner with Risk & Contract Management team to design, execute, and maintain oil contracting strategies with key customers, as needed.  Submit these contracts to OT (Oil Trading) through Velocity and subsequently to the customer for signature.
  • Proactively recommend promotional and distribution opportunities in existing and new accounts in accordance with the Company's objectives.
  • Make routine retail store calls to ensure that the Company's objectives are being achieved at retail in regard to pricing, placement, promotion and freshness.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in selling brands, private label and/or custom made products at wholesale and retail customers.
  • 5+ years of managing sales agencies experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Experience selling to the Buyer at Family Dollar, Ace Hardware, Quik Trip and / or Walgreen's experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 5+ years sales experience in retail, ideally including retail foodservice (bakery/deli), produce, center store and perishable.
  • Must be comfortable engaging with retailer at all levels, from regional and corporate buying offices, to in-store work.
  • Must have working knowledge of syndicated industry data, customer specific data where applicable and be able to apply the information effectively in presentations with the customer.
  • Must have experience holding a broker sales agency accountable for their results.
  • Must have the highest business and personal integrity.
