Position Summary:

The Product Commercialization Manager role will lead projects or programs prioritized by the commercial and operations team.  This role is responsible for project planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, and completion of project undertaken.   The Product Commercialization Manager ensures that the projects or programs implemented have met all performance targets identified.   A successful person in this role will have a track record of successful project delivery and strong collaboration skills enabling them to become a trusted associate working alongside functional leaders and teammates.  

The Product Commercialization Manager will manage 1 Project Coordinator and 3 Analysts in leading their own set of commercialization projects.  This role will escalate projects as needed and present to senior leadership recommendations for prioritization.  The Product Commercialization Manager will work to continuously improve the commercialization process within Ventura Foods, including lead cross-functional teams towards these efforts. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Utilizing project management skills, manage and guide projects through development and approval phases ensuring deadlines for all phases of development (i.e., new ingredients, labels, equipment installation, operational requirements, and packaging).  

    Guide, educate and assist Sales Managers and other members of the project team in managing and communicating project requirements and project progress reporting with key customer contacts.

    Track, monitor, and follow-up on finished goods, unique components, or unusual component volumes for specific items to assist sales in recouping costs via operative utilization or through customer repayments.

  2. Assist in the development and refining of existing processes, timelines, and requirements. Interface across all impacted commercial and operations departments to ensure refinements or process changes are purposeful and meet overall company objectives.

  3. Manage employees: Train in project management tools; process improvements; cross-functional leadership; support individual development plans; long-term department planning and alignment with leadership.

  4. Oversee the ongoing administration, maintenance, and enhancements of the PCS - Product Commercialization System. 

  5. Lead and participate in executive review meetings, and Product Commercialization Team meetings and reporting.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in Product Commercialization, PMO, Operations, or S&OP.  
  • Ability to travel 5%.
  • Experience in B2B preferred. 
  • People management experience is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to function effectively in complex and rapidly evolving situations. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; lead cross-functional teams; experience presenting to all levels within an organization. 

  • Experience in different systems, such as JDE, PLM; possess advanced Excel skills.

  • Intermediate understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain elements.

  • Salary Base Range of $111,000 – $146,000 for Employees Located in California*
  • Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)

*The “base salary range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position.   The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates.  Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.  Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
