People Analytics Manager

Position Summary:

The Manager, People Analytics is a key leader within the Ventura Foods Human Resources team, partnering with HR leadership as well as cross-functional Leaders to establish a dedicated People Analytics function. This role will be responsible for leading the team in identifying what critical questions we would like to answer and then putting together a plan to answer those questions with key metrics, reporting analytics, insightful data, executive dashboards and scorecards.  The Manager, People Analytics will focus on a variety of key objectives including strategic planning, data management, analysis, optimization, and effective communication of data-driven insights.  These objectives will be crucial in enabling the business to make informed decisions, optimize HR processes, and enhance the overall employee experience. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with HR and Business Leaders for effective development and deployment of consistent, enterprise-wide people analytics that empower leaders to make informed, data-driven decisions that optimize their talent management strategies.
  • Stand up Human Resources dashboards and scorecards that enable the function to track and report out on business-critical measures, identify patterns, trends, and correlations that provide valuable insight across HR processes and outcomes.
  • Provide HR and business leaders with access to insightful data inclusive of establishing self-service, ad-hoc, and push/pull reporting capabilities alongside operating models/cadences.
  • Design and implement a roadmap that starts with building and/or refining descriptive and diagnostic analytics while planning and driving toward future predictive and prescriptive analytics. 
  • Aggregate and analyze complex data across multiple, disparate data sources.  Visualize and present the data in a clear, concise, holistic, and actionable format. 
  • Act as the SME (subject matter expert) for all things data-related across all areas of HR, including: culture, talent acquisition and management, D&I leadership, L&D, performance management, etc.  Build a plan to integrate cross-functional data to tell one consistent story across the employee lifecycle.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, and management of HR-related data, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulations.
  • Consult on HR process optimization, ensuring data integrity by identifying areas for process improvement and automation using data-driven insights.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree to include 7+ years of analytics experience required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • People analytics experience within the Human Resources function required.
  • Certifications in HR Analytics, Business Intelligence or other certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing an Analytics Strategy/Roadmap required; Ability to create long-term roadmaps while developing a compelling, practical approach to expediting transformation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in innovating, designing, implementing and launching sustainable people analytics scorecards, dashboards, and cadence of data/insights required
  • Experience collecting data sets from a variety of sources and in different formats, harmonizing/preparing data, interpreting/analyzing data, and then communicating findings using visualization tools and techniques.      

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong combination of analytical, technical, and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of HR practices.  Advanced Excel skills required; Microstrategy experience or hands-on experience with one or more BI platforms / visualization tools desired.
  • Human Capital Management System (HCMS) experience required (SAP SuccessFactors strongly preferred).
  • Experience translating strategic vision into actionable plans and making decisions with incomplete, ambiguous, or imperfect information.
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence a wide range of leaders in the development of solutions for critical business initiatives. Strong understanding of the HR data landscape and the functions and processes that produce this data, including existing challenges, best practices and confidentiality/governance.
  • Passionate, customer-centric approach to problem-solving and analytical consulting; Ability to influence; ability to diagnose; demonstrated listening skills and ability to come back to business demands with appropriate and adequate solutions
  • Analytical skills as well as writing, presentation and data visualization best practices, storytelling through data, and visual design of data

  • Salary Base Range of $111,000 – $146,000 for Employees Located in California*
  • Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)

*The “base salary range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position.   The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates.  Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.  Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
