Position Summary:

The Network Optimization Manager is a critical role within the S&OP team. This role will play a crucial part in enhancing our supply chain efficiency by supporting our S&OP, Network Optimization, and Production Scheduling Processes. This individual will support the organization through advanced analytics, linear programming and optimization evaluations, with a strong focus on understanding manufacturing capabilities, capacities and constraints. This role will ensure that each of these critical processes are connected through a singular model, enabling strategic decisions to be made for Ventura Foods' supply chain network.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop Network Optimization analysis of the current supply chain network to identify opportunities for optimization. Evaluate transportation, distribution, and inventory strategies to enhance overall efficiency and service performance. Leverage advanced modelling through Llamasoft or other tools to achieve these goals. Maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities and assist as needed in execution to achieve savings goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement Sales and Operations Planning processes and tools. Work closely with Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning and Manufacturing teams to build and enhance our S&OP model, and integrate advanced techniques to improve the process to manage plant capacities.
  • Support the development and implementation of robust Production Capacity & Schedule Optimization models that accurately simulate capacity and allow proactive management of capacity gaps on the tactical and strategic horizons. Build out capability, and work to continually improve, for Production Scheduling Optimization models used by Production Schedulers on a daily basis and align with S&OP planning activities.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret large sets of supply chain data to provide actionable insights.
  • Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain & network optimization.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Support adhoc analysis and optimization within current operational constraints throughout the network in order to mitigate short term disruptions, and potential impacts to Customer service.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, including 5+ years of advanced analytics experience within Operations/Supply Chain disciplines.
  • Supply Chain network optimization experience required.
  • Ability to travel 10% in North America.
  • Llamasoft experience highly desirable. 
  • Bachelor's degree emphasis in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Mathematics or Business Management is preferred.
  • Food Manufacturing experience is desired.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Requires in depth understanding of MRP systems (e.g. JD Edwards, SAP, etc.) Supply Chain systems, Linear Programming Models, and Production Scheduling Optimization tools
  • Required communication skills - good structure and clarity in Written, Oral and Presentation materials.
  • Ability to utilize basic computer tools (spreadsheet, database management, word processing) effectively.

  • Salary Base Range of $123,300 – $161,000 for Employees Located in California*
  • Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)

*The “base salary range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position.   The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates.  Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.  Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
