Position Summary:
Manage the Sauces product category market value to effectively support the attainment of management approved sales and profit goals. Utilize all company resources to optimize market return to the company.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports category research identifying market needs and relative product/category solutions. Leads new product development, positioning, pricing, and programming for Ventura brands, and support distributor brands, and value-added operator label product.
- Analyzes and reports on the key Ventura category metrics (internal and external) and understands and articulates "the why" to help support business strategy and planning.
- Provides product expertise and internal/external communication and guidance for all products in the appropriate categories across all Ventura Foods foodservice business units.
- Leads new product development through the cross-functional commercialization process, including communicating value proposition for new products and launch strategy, as well as managing deliverables, guiding timelines, post-launch reviews.
- Develops and manages all selling materials, promotions and media creative/planning for the category. Understands communication tactics and ROI and identifies opportunities for new and innovative communications.
- Provides category expertise for national accounts and distributors in formula selection and product positioning.
- Assist with the marketing support & project management of all relevant brand products and related development projects.
- Responsible for the development and execution of category training programs & materials.
- Actively contributes to SKU rationalization and manages regional brand consolidation and comprehensive category management.
- Contributes to category growth plans through assisting with product/formula selection, pricing and media planning.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, MBA a plus.
- 5 years marketing & analytics experience required.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
- Foodservice marketing background or B2B marketing strong exposure strongly desired.
- Familiarity with marketing research and commercialization in the food industry experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with the NPD platform is a plus.
- Innovation food agency experience is desired.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organization, project management and time management skills.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Understands and leverages market research to develop new products and B2B market communications.
- Able to develop brand fundaments, agency briefs and evaluate and execute creative and media plans.
- Able to develop new products using research and customer feedback and launch effectively working with sales and customers.
- Can contribute to strategy development and understands the financial impact.
- Establish and implement an annual marketing plan.

- Salary Base Range of $110,000 – $146,000 for Employees Located in California*
- Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)
*The “base salary range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates. Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.
