Manager, Corporate Strategy

Position Summary:

This role will be responsible for driving the execution of the strategic agenda and business development opportunities for the company. Business development is a critical capability within the organization and the manager will play a key role to support the successful execution of this work.  This role will work closely with the Business Development team and cross functional partners through activities such as market assessment, due diligence, and other strategic initiatives. The manager role will manage the day-to-day activities that need to be completed, escalate risks and define mitigation plans, and provide regular progress reports on key initiatives.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Business Development: Drive the execution of Ventura's M&A Stage Gate and due diligence processes. This includes developing the timelines for execution, partnering with the Business Development team and cross functional partners to work through the due diligence process, and managing cross-functional teams and external consultants on executing the work. 
  • Process Support: Document the processes we define for managing the stage gate and diligence process.  Provide feedback on process improvement areas, identify any gaps in our practices, and manage the M&A playbooks for future opportunities.
  • Business Unit Support: Assist other departments and divisions in their planning activities to ensure connectivity between overall corporate strategy and the individual business unit plans.  Support initiatives as needed to drive business unit priorities for the organization.
  • External M&A Activity: Monitor news and recent transactions within the food industry and provides regular updates on market trends to the Business Development Team.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, including 5+ years progressively responsible experience where duties involve project management, strategic assessments, consulting work, and process documentation
  • Ability to travel 25%, including domestic and international
  • Food industry experience will be significant plus
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in the fields of Business Administration, Finance or Engineering
  • MBA is a plus
  • MicroStrategy experience is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Well developed skills in the areas of planning, organizing, prioritizing, and communication
  • Must be decisive and demonstrate sound judgment
  • Must possess outstanding analytical skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills that enable good communications and selling of ideas

  • Salary Base Range of $119,700 – $157,000 for Employees Located in California*
  • Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)

*The “base salary range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position.   The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates.  Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.  Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
