EHS Data Analyst

Position Summary:

The Environmental, Health and Safety Program Data Analyst will serve as the data guru for our Environmental, Health and Safety team, supporting a wide range of applications, data, and analysis requests related to environmental, health and safety. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Environmental, Health, and Safety, this role partners closely with a wide range of cross-functional partners including Production Management, Finance, Legal, Risk Management, and CSR/Sustainability.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data and develop insightful dashboards, memos, and presentations summarizing the data related to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, projects, and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management, Production Management, Finance, and Plant Environmental, Health, and Safety teams to improve our data systems over time, including the data itself and the tools that will help us to analyze and interpret results and trends.
  • Compile Health and Safety data related to OSHA recordkeeping and other regulatory requirements to develop department scorecards. Develop tools and analysis to support decision-making related to how we prioritize Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives.
  • Assist with the collection of large data sets from a variety of internal and external sources, organize data, clean and transform data into needed formats for further analysis. 
  • Support value chain emission calculations using a variety of approaches, including spend-based and activity-based approaches, following the guidance provided.  Support in research of developing methodologies and best practices. Conduct QA/QC of input data and calculations, troubleshoot inconsistencies in data or calculations, and assist in completing internal validation and 3rd party verification of data and calculations.
  • The ability to travel to the annual EHS team offsite meetings, one EHS Summit (one week), and an EHS Strategy session (four day).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience)-preferably in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability.
  • 3 - 6 years of experience in a highly analytical environment (e.g., management consulting, corporate analytics, strategy, and operations, or other roles requiring a blend of analytical, strategic, and cross-functional work).
  • 2+ years of working and/or supporting a manufacturing work environment is required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook) and MicroStrategy is required

Preferred requirements:

  • Experience working with VelocityEHS, Resource Advisor (Utilities application), or similar EHS applications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to synthesize information across a broad system to diagnose problems and devise solutions.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to thrive with minimal oversight and process, while keeping leadership informed on progress against deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, possess an abundance of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results, and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity.
  • Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills are required
  • Must be able to take on projects from idea through completion
  • Understanding the manufacturing production process, including organizational structure, terminology, equipment, engineering practices, etc. is a plus.

  • Salary Base Range of $84,994.00 - $109,770.15*
