Director IT PMO & Governance

Position Summary:

The IT Director PMO and Governance is a key role in the Information Technology department at Ventura Foods. Ventura’s success and strategic growth initiatives drive our progressive IT agenda. The IT Director PMO and Governance will define, develop, optimize, lead and govern the processes and tools for the IT Program Management Office (PMO) and Delivery. This person will also oversee the department’s financial and portfolio management, manage contracts and licenses, track and manage vendors and contractors, and maintain metrics reporting and dashboards. 

This role works closely with the IT Leadership Team, IT delivery teams, key business leaders, and with Finance to ensure best practices within the IT PMO, including budget management. The IT Director PMO and Governance will ensure compliance to annual IT project portfolio planning, annual operating planning / budgeting, and ensure all projects are managed consistently, reliably, and transparently across all IT workstreams. 

This role is responsible for many individuals in a matrix environment, therefore must exemplify our collaborative culture through teamwork. The IT Director of PMO and Governance is well positioned to positively lead our teams through the rising adoption of technology in our company.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Management Office: Manage the PMO with responsibility for the project delivery process, standards, tools, reporting, budgets and portfolio management.
  • Enterprise /Corporate priorities: Coordinate closely with the Enterprise PMO to ensure proper allocation of IT resources (both internal and external) to corporate initiatives and business priorities.
  • IT Operational Governance: Responsible for KPI’s, ensuring proper performance of ticket management; builds and publishes monthly Management Dashboard and quarterly scorecards; gauges customer satisfaction (via surveys, etc.); and provides vendor management over outsourced vendors and service providers.
  • IT Finance: Responsible for the department budget, reporting, monthly budget reviews with cost center owners, centralized payment for all company phones, network circuits, landlines, hardware, software and licenses.
  • IT Personnel management – Keep track of contractors and their costs; validate invoices from the staffing vendor, manage requests for new contractors, and on / off boarding of IT contractors.
  • IT Reporting: Prepare, compile, and track IT KPIs to measure performance in critical related project management, capacity management, service desk ticket status and resolution, or more financial-focused costs and revenue stats, among others.
  • Risk Management: Serve as point-person to coordinate and handling audits (Internal and external); handles contract, license management, and compliance.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or other related field
  • Proficient and experienced in project management methodologies (i.e., Agile, etc.)
  • Experience working on project and portfolio management tools
  • Hands-on experience in project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting
  • Experience leading projects and programs within and outside IS, as well as projects and programs that involved external providers
  • Proven track record in IT project management, capacity management, or IT delivery
  • 3+ years' experience in a supervisory position
  • Strong attention to details and technicalities
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills                          

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • 8+ years' experience with increasing responsibility in the areas of IT project management and administration
  • Experience working in the Manufacturing Industry  
  • Certification or course work in project management (i.e. CAPM, PMP)
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow (or similar tools)

  • Salary Base Range of $168,000 – $225,000 for Employees Located in California*
  • Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)

*The “base salary range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position.   The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates.  Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.  Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
