Director, Foodservice Regional Account Sales - Southeast Region

Position Summary:

The Director Sales Regional Accounts will be responsible for the overall sales strategy, sales & marketing execution, and allocation of resources within his/her area of responsibility.  This will be accomplished through the use of CRM Tool Velocity and annual Territory Management planning process.  The incumbent will be responsible for motivating & leading a team of four Regional Account Managers.  Selling the Ventura Foods brand and portfolio within the framework of VF Customer Value Proposition (CVP) is within scope, with focus on Technomic Top 101-1500 Chains/LLOs.  Key responsibilities include, establishing and achieving annual volume and profit objectives via the effective management of Regional Account Managers and their Chain broker partners at the Director level.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management: Support Regional Account Manager success through ongoing training, development and education and via joining key existing and target customer engagements.  Reinforce the use of key internal tools to support planning and execution: Velocity (CRM Tool - Territory Management Planning, Oil Contracting, Pipeline Management), Forge (pricing contracts).  Direct the strategic and effective use of internal Ventura Foods services to develop best in class customer relationships and execution.
  • Execution: Using Territory Management Plan and Task review as your guide, continually reviewing market dynamics with VP of Sales, Regional Account Managers and Chain Broker Director to assess progress/results and modify plan as needed to meet volume and variable margin goals.  Coach, mentor and enhance field sales execution through the implementation of a consistent and effective annual operating model.  
  • Strategy: responsible for the development of annual Region strategy to meet company volume and variable margin objectives.  Strategy must include Territory Management plans for each Regional Account Manager that includes the leveraging of Chain broker partner, data, key insights and internal value- added services to drive new business wins.  
  • P&L and Sales Expense Management: Responsible for ongoing management of Region P&L, with the goal of meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual volume and variable margin objectives while managing customer, personal and team sales expenses within established budget parameters.    

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, including 10+ years of broad range of sales and management positions including field sales, broker engagement, sales operations and marketing is required
  • 5+ years Foodservice sales experience is required
  • Direct people leadership experience is required
  • Experience/familiarity working with CRM tool (Salesforce preferred) is critical
  • P&L management experience, as well as financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting expertise is required
  • Solid track record of problem solving and priority setting in a fast paced and evolving business environment is required
  • History of delivering strong business results in changing environments and competitive markets is required
  • Ability to travel up to 40% is required
  • 10+ years Foodservice sales experience is highly desired
  • Ideal candidate resides in one of the following states: FL, GA, SC or NC is preferred
