Position Summary:
We are seeking a Corporate Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our various functions within the business, who can effectively influence, lead, and execute across multiple facets of HR including coaching and guiding the business in recruitment, engagement, performance management, talent development, total rewards, employee relations and HR compliance. This HRBP contributes to making a difference at every level by driving & executing impactful organizational changes, while driving a high performing & winning culture with an increasing focus on leadership and talent development that align with The Ventura Edge. One must also be able to cultivate strong relationships rooted in trust to be successful and deliver value to our people and the business. This position will report to the Director and work closely with corporate HR functions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with the business to evolve, develop and lead all people initiatives while helping to shape the culture that facilitates and supports Ventura Foods goals and initiatives.
- Act as trusted advisor, influencer and coach to functional business leaders and below, regarding all people related areas: coaching, individual development, organizational structure and team development. Perform investigations as required.
- Drive the HR strategy to attract, grow and connect employees to support the organization’s short- and long-term business goals, by collaborating with cross-functional HR teams. Lead the interaction and process with business leaders in the areas of talent acquisition, talent development, compensation and benefits, and compliance. Provide guidance and coaching as appropriate on talent and organizational issues.
- Drive employee connection and commitment by utilizing employee feedback, trends and its impact on employee morale, potential employee relations or wage/benefit issues to optimize our people process and total rewards.
- Coach and guide leaders through the performance planning and evaluation cycles including continuous improvement of tools and resources.
- Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) on the performance and individual development processes
- Lead calibration of performance in functional support areas
- Coach and guide leaders through the talent and succession management process (People Planning):
- Act as SME on talent and succession planning
- Lead calibration of talent and facilitation of movement of talent across the functional support areas
- Assist with the identification and assessment of talent across the organization
- Ensure continued development and advancement of our people and the functions
- Assessing Employee Relations practices to support compliance with Corporate, Federal, State and Local rules and regulations while providing guidance to management to help maintain a well-adapted employment environment.
- Lead, develop and execute other projects and initiatives as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in relata ed field, Master’s degree a big plus
- Required 3+ years as an HR Manager, including experience in an HQ/Corporate setting or demonstrated experience as a trusted HR advisor and/or internal HR consultant within a CPG or multi-location organization, including experience with a dispersed workforce
- Required knowledge and experience in organizational development process and programs: talent, performance management, workforce planning
- PHR or SPHR through HRCI/SHRM certification is strongly preferred
- Comfortable working on-site 3 days per week
- Must be familiar with HR technology (e.g., applicant track system, HRIS, performance management systems, benefits system, etc.)

- Salary Base Range of $119,700 – $165,000 for Employees Located in California*
- Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)
*The “base salary range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates. Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography. Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
