Position Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing the entire recruitment process, utilizing all necessary resources to meet Ventura Foods’ job candidate needs. Key responsibilities include managing the ongoing recruitment process to ensure a steady pipeline of qualified candidates, referring applicants for specific job openings based on detailed conversations with hiring managers and thorough screening interviews to identify the ideal candidate profile. Additionally, the role involves coordinating pre-employment screenings to ensure compliance and suitability of candidates. Reporting on staffing and headcount trends is also crucial, leveraging this data to make informed recommendations on future headcount needs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review employment applications and examine work history, education and training, job skills, compensation needs and other qualifications of applicants and recommend job candidates for open positions.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for new employees to ensure a seamless transition into Ventura Foods.
- Recruit for open positions using all means available and necessary including but not limited to, VenturaFoods.com's career opportunities page, Job Boards, Social Networking Sites, local print media, etc.
- Converse with hiring managers to determine job skill requirements and establish a candidate profile the hiring manager would like to attract. Develop knowledge of business units' needs to assist with future openings.
- Track staffing metrics and maintain organized data for accurate and efficient reporting purposes.
- Maintain records of hires, terminations, pre-employment test results and other data as requested.
- Identify talent pools and leverage community relationships to position Ventura Foods as an employer of choice in the Birmingham area.
- Interview applicants and inform them of job duties and responsibilities, work schedules and working conditions, company policies and other related information.
- Support with new hire orientation to ensure a smooth onboarding process for all new employees.
- Analyze staffing/headcount trends and use the knowledge to suggest areas where headcount is needed or could decrease.
- All other activities as assigned by manager.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience in high-volume recruitment, managing an average of 20+ positions simultaneously.
- Comprehensive full-cycle recruitment experience is essential.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and/or Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) is required.
- 2 -3 years experience in the Manufacturing or Food Manufacturing Industry is preferred.
- 2-3 years of recruitment and/or staffing experience in a professional environment is preferred; experience in the food industry is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency necessary.
- Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and/or Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
- Maintain a professional demeanor and practice confidentiality at all times.

Physical Demands:
Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required.
Work Environment:
In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards. May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
