Position Summary:
Position is responsible for the activities of the General Accounting department. Position is also responsible for maintaining accounting principles and practices to ensure integrity of the company's general ledger and financial statements.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the Accounting Manager in performing the month-end close which includes preparation of journal entries for inventory usage variances, shipping accruals and variance close-outs; review and posting of all inventory related automated journal entries; review and approve the journal entries of staff before posting to the general ledger; and review financial statements for accuracy. Ensures deadlines are met.
- Review variances per divisional financial statements. Review and present notes for the financial statements.
- Reconcile and analyze inventory in-transit and payable accounts. Prepare any adjusting journal entries.
- Reconcile and analyze various general ledger accounts. Prepare any adjusting journal entries.
- Provide support for Divisional Controllers. Answering questions, resolving issues and serving as a resource for accounting procedures and policies.
- Supervise day-to-day activities of staff. Provides training, direction and support. Act as liaison between General Accounting and other departments.
- Assist the Accounting Manager in preparing for the external financial statement audit. This includes preparation and review of various schedules, financial statement support and addressing supplemental auditor requests.
- Assist the Accounting Manager and Tax Manager in preparing for sales and use tax audits. This includes preparation of various schedules, sales and use tax return support and addressing supplemental auditor requests.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in Accounting and/or Finance required.
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word with knowledge of JDE / Oracle.
- Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of external financial statement audits with the ability to exercise good judgment and work ethics to ensure the integrity of all reporting.
- Has a good understanding of internal controls and maintains effective controls within the financial reporting process.
- Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner and interact with all levels of management.
- Requires leadership and teambuilding skills.

- Salary Base Range of $84,994.00 - $109,770.15*
