Plant Continuous Improvement Coordinator

Position Summary:

Execute process excellence through Kaizen, project management, and selected productivity projects according to the FT Worth plant and Edge Operating System.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the execution of plant identified continuous process improvement projects, Lean Six Sigma, and/or manufacturing productivity projects.                                                                              
  • Assist with overall data analysis, conclusions, and presentations related to project completion and findings.
  • Assist internal customers (plant and/or function teams) with project identification, selection, and prioritization.
  • Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls.                                                                                      
Education and Experience:

• Technical degree or experience in engineering, business, organizational development, or leading operational projects.
• Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification by a recognized organization in the industry or the willingness to work towards one.
• Project and facilitation experience in a matrixed environment preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to implement organizational and cultural change and deliver results with proven influencing skills.
• Ability to facilitate a high level of collaboration and teamwork among all members of the work group to promote engagement and get results.
• Results oriented with the ability to gather, analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources.
• Project management capability with effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
• Knowledge and strong working competence in MS Office toolset.


Physical Demands:

Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.  Additional demands may be required.


Work Environment:

In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed.  May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity.  May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.  May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
