Supervisor Process


Location: Opelousas, LA 

Exemption: Exempt 

Shift: Rotating Days and Night

Position Summary:

The Process Supervisor is accountable for all Refinery activities during a 12 hour shift of the Lou Ana Division refinery, a 7 day / 24 hour processing facility with bulk loading/unloading, refining, bleaching, deodorization, hydrogenation, winterization, acidulation, waste water treatment, steam generation, landfarm capabilities, and for overall management of specific processes.  Ensures that the staff maintain sanitation in compliance with  SOP's, HACCP, GMP, EPA and OSHA requirements. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate operator tasks and projects.

Coordinate all bulk oil shipments and all oil pumping.

Coordinate personnel training and assure quality products and safe operation.

Coordinate Maintenance, Quality Control and Security activities and personnel while working during non-business hours.

Complete process reports, budget reports, etc.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
2 year manufacturing experience is preferred.
Prior supervisory experience is helpful.

Knowledge and Skills:

Thorough knowledge of vegetable oil operations and vegetable oil chemistry.
Demonstrated ability in mathematics and science is required. 
Strong leadership skills. 
Requires knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, AS400.


Physical Demands:

Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.  Additional demands may be required.


Work Environment:

In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed.  May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity.  May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.  May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
