Talent Acquisition Specialist

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the ongoing recruitment process using all necessary means and supporting Ventura Foods'  job candidate needs. Refer applicants for specific job openings based upon conversations with the hiring manager and screening interviews to determine the prime candidate profile. Administer pre-employment reference and background checks. Report on staffing/headcount trends and use the knowledge to recommend upcoming headcount needs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check employment applications and examine work history, education and training, job skills, compensation needs and other qualifications of applicants and recommend job candidates for Ventura Foods Headquarters and Field Sales.
  • Recruit for open positions using all means available and necessary including but not limited to, VeturaFoods.com's career opportunities page, Careerbuilder.com, Monster.com, Social Networking Sites, local print media, etc.
  • Converse with hiring managers to determine job skill requirements and establish a candidate profile the hiring manager would like to attract. Develop knowledge of business units' needs to assist with future openings.                                                                   
  • Interview applicants and inform them of job duties and responsibilities, work schedules and working conditions, company policies and other related information.                                                               
  • Analyze staffing/headcount trends and use the knowledge to suggest areas where headcount is needed or could decrease.                                                                    
  • Maintain records of hires, terminations, pre-employment test results and other data as requested.  
  • All other activities as requested by manager. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or other relevant field required.
  • 2 - 3 years recruitment and/or staffing experience in a professional environment preferred. Food industry experience a plus.
     

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency necessary.
