Position Summary:

Assist the Finance Manager and Sales Coordinator. Responsible for processing various advanced level inventory functions which utilize research, reconciling, investigating and problem-solving techniques.  Manage and collect promptly these outstanding inventory issues while maintaining the goodwill of customers. Evaluate held orders, and contact customers as needed to enable expeditious release of orders.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer service and/or sales regarding Finished Goods inventory shortages and slow-moving items.
  • Utilizing JDE inventory reporting to create a report that identifies potential shortages by base product code.
  • Assist in the setup of new items (PCS) by working with various functional departments, i.e. Quality, R&D, Operations, Purchasing and Cost Accounting.
  • Work with functional groups in the planning and execution of “Big Events”, events that are out of the normal and which are unplanned for.
  • Assist in monitoring all inventory identifying for slow moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Serve as a backup in the rework manufacturing process.  Identify rework opportunities, working with Planning, Quality and Operations in scheduling and executing the rework.
  • Act as backup for accounts payable process, this includes coding and entry of A/P batches into JDE for payment and for A/P non-PO invoice processing. Enters inbound oil freight invoices and outbound packaged freight invoices into payable system.
  • Assist with month-end close process, including posting of divisional journal entries into JDE.  Compile information and report variances in the operation monthly report.
  • Prepares various production, financial and distribution reports as assigned by the Inventory Control Supervisor or Finance Manager.
  • Responsible for supporting safety and SQF
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field with 1 to 2 years of General Accounting experience in a manufacturing setting. 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Computer skills are required, preferably experience in Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably JDE                                                           
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-starter with proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to multi task is essential
  • Accounting knowledge, attention to detail
  • problem solving skills important for analysis functions
