Senior Corporate Communication Specialist

Position Summary:

Ventura Foods is seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Corporate Communications Specialist to assist with the company's communications, culture and sustainability efforts. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Corporate Communications, this individual will support the build and execution of materials, programs and events that  inform, influence, and inspire stakeholders. This individual will also partner closely with internal departments to support their communications priorities and initiatives. 
 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Sr. Director, Corporate Communication to develop project plans, tactics, timeline and execute to successful and timely completion. Including (but not limited to) analyzing situations, providing counsel, developing, and aligning on communication objectives/goals, identifying opportunities and challenges, creating key messages by audience type, and developing, managing and implementing the communication strategies/plans.
  • Manage the company's giving and volunteering program, working with Ventura Foods' manufacturing sites to guide and support their charitable activities and administering the company's volunteering and giving software platform. 
  • Develop and maintain communications content and collateral, including company internal newsletter, and publish content across multiple platforms (intranet, social media, and other communications channels).

  • Collect, analyze, and report on Ventura Foods' sustainability initiatives, collaborate cross functionally to populate web-based customer and third-party surveys, meeting various deadlines. 
  • Support corporate events including company's annual and quarterly leadership meetings and global townhalls. 
  • Conduct research and analyze trends and opportunities that inform corporate citizenship strategic direction.
  • Manage customer and partner relationships, including internal stakeholders and external agencies, vendors, and other external partners. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in communications, public relations, sustainability, marketing or related field required.
  • Minimum 2-years of communications experience within an agency or corporate environment required.
  • Strength in writing and editing is required.
  • Experience with corporate social responsibility or sustainability preferred.
  • Social media content development and analytics comprehension experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Create Suite is desired. 
  • Prefer manufacturing or foodservice industry experience.
  • Ability to travel 5%.

  • Strong organizational skills and sense of urgency in meeting time deadlines.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, especially under tight deadlines.

  • Must be respectful, approachable, team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a postive work enviornment.
  • Strong decision-making ability and high level of professionalism.
  • Attention to detail and consistency in day-to-day program execution.
  • Microsoft 365 fluency including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint, etc.
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and social media content management platforms.
