Inventory Analyst


Location: Brea HQ

Position Summary:

Drive supply chain inventory efficiencies by providing analysis related to slow moving and obsolete inventory, identifying root cause, and developing corrective and preventative actions. Act as liaison between Sales, Customer Solutions, and Regional Planning Managers to mitigate the impact of slow moving and obsolete inventory. Analyze data, develop metrics, and create management reports related to inventory. Share best practices.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively work to increase inventory turns while maintaining efficiently managed inventory. Work to identify inventory patterns and perform overall inventory analysis. Define and monitor metrics to identify anomalies, recurring issues, and trends and recommend corrective / preventative action. (25%)
  • Prepare and review inventory reports to identify aged, slow-moving, obsolete, or unproductive inventory. Provide ad hoc reports as needed to both internal and external customers, including inventory reports. (25%)
  • Provide feedback to Sales, Customer Solutions team members, and Management on performance to forecast, inventory levels, and usage, including inventory overages and shortages. Provide Sales and Customer Solutions team members with aged inventory information. Review for shelf-life extension possibilities and develop strategies with sales to prevent material from hitting reserve. Work with the sales team to ship aged customer inventory. (25%
  • Initiate inspections, tests, and branch transfer requests as needed. (15%)
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for recommending inventory and write off targets, inventory policies and master data parameter changes. (10%)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Adminstartion, or Engineering
  • Green Belt Ceritified preferred
  • APICS Certified a plus
  • Masters in Supply Chain Management, Project management and Information and technology Management preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Statistical analysis, supply chain planning/forecasting skills using recognized planning or analytics software applications
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent Power Point, MS Project, Visio, Access, Tableau and Excel skills
  • Demonstrated business intuition skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly through written and oral communications
  • Understands functional processes and can navigate systems to extract needed data
  • Deep understanding of principals of project management and team facilitation
  • Related work experience in a continuous improvement or project management role preferred
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, influence leaders to change/adopt change, building trust and credibility quickly
  • Experience in a consulting environment preferred
