CMMS/CAM Specialist

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Corporate Reliability Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the coordination, improvement and administration of the JD Edwards EAM/CAM Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) including any interfaces to 3rd party software.  This position will be responsible for leading the execution of the new EDGE Reliability System with all 12 facility maintenance teams as well as other departments that have impact on the CMMS, such as Procurement, Finance, IT support services, etc.  Development of CMMS strategy, enforcement of SOPs and ensuring system data integrity are prime responsibilities of this position.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and administers CMMS/CAM Software, Database and Reporting systems including interfaces to third-party JDE enhancements. Responsible for ongoing application support to support business decisions, workflow development and contract compliance at all Ventura facilities.
  • Develop standardized reporting templates and processes for various stakeholders. Develop and run KPI reports tracking the performance of the Maintenance processes at both the plant and corporate level.  Leads the monthly Reliability and Maintenance report out calls with each plant.  Develops standard and ad-hoc reports using the asset data system and leads development of other end user reporting tools.  
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of Ventura Foods EDGE Reliability System standards and workflows across all locations. Manage outside vendor and professional trade group relationships to ensure adoption of best in class systems. 
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) and primary end user trainer, both formal and informal, for the JDE CAM and all supported systems.  Will be responsible for developing corporate and local training materials that support business objectives and workflows.  Provides training to facilitate teams regarding use of data mining and reporting.
  • Will lead the efforts along with IT representation to troubleshoot user issues, identifying the root cause of reported issues, enlisting ensuring additional support required as needed for satisfactory resolution. Liaison between the functional end users and the technical support team for JDE CAM and interfaces
  • Responsible for coordination and management of testing in the development of interfaces, changes, patches and fixes. 
  • Oversee accuracy of system data by enforcing data standards in system use and reporting

Education and Experience:

  • 5 years experience in implementing and maintaining ERP systems such as JD Edwards is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an Associate’s degree with additional specialized courses in relevant technical fields.
  • Experience leading (informally or formally) in a Plant level Maintenance organization. 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills, specifically with CMMS systems and database analysis (JDE CAM end user experience required)
  • Read, understand, and write a broad range of technical documents 
  • Work with both the English and Metric measurement systems
  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, from management to floor level personnel
  • Ability to positively influence others 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook 


Physical Demands:

Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.  Additional demands may be required.


Work Environment:

In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed.  May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity.  May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.  May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
